Old Montreal celebrates the Grand Prix
An Old Montreal feeling for the Grand Prix
– Main street development project –
Initially thought up by a group of young Saint-Paul street restaurateurs in 2014, this special project aimed to revitalize this well-known Old Montreal artery with a special flair. Enthusiasm for the project was such that Saint Paul street, both east and west, became party central for Grand Prix fans in early June 2015.
Although the programming for the Vieux-Montréal célèbre le Grand Prix event (Old Montreal celebrates the Grand Prix) centres on restaurants and nightlife, many retail stores can now take part in the festivities by hosting promotions tying into the Speed Week theme. At the heart of the activities was the F1 Foodie Zone with outdoor terrasses, barbecues, buskers, street art, DJs, special guests, and more, all backdropped by a Grand Prix-themed urban decor.
In 2015, this business development activity overseen by SDC Vieux-Montréal was made possible by the support of the Ville-Marie borough and cooperation from over 70 of the quarter’s retailers.
For further information, the www.vieuxmontreal.ca/en/grandprixf1-2/ website recaps all of the first edition’s programming.
In partnership with Ville-Marie Borough.
