IN PREPERATION FOR TOURIST SEASON IN OLD MONTREAL

April 28, 2016

Personalized services to experience the best that the district has to offer

A NEW FEATURE FOR ASIAN TOURISTS IN 2016

SDC Vieux-Montréal is proud to announce that the district’s official tourist map will now be available in 5 languages:                                                                                                                                                                                                    French, English, Spanish, German (since 2015) and Mandarin (as of May).

This new addition stems from a significant increase in Asian tourists, especially since the opening of a new trans-Pacific nonstop route between Asia and Montréal in the Fall of 2015.

2016 CRUISES: PERSONNALIZED SERVICE AND NEW BAGGAGE SERVICE

The Montréal Cruise Committee, of which the SDC Vieux-Montréal is a member, has adapted transport logistics in light of the major renovations of the cruise terminal at the Alexandra Quay. There will now be a welcoming service, shuttle buses and a baggage service, all specially designed for the 2016 cruise season.

It is estimated that 65 000 people will visit Montréal on cruise ships this year (between May and October). This major influx has enticed some of the local businesses to offer passenger privilege discounts so that they can offer this important clientele the best that the district and the city has to offer.
