PME MTL Centre-Ville, in collaboration with the Société de développement commercial du Vieux-Montréal, is proud to launch the Visée locale sur la rue Saint-Paul entrepreneurial competition, thanks to the financial support granted by the Ville de Montréal. This competition aims to fuel the creation of new businesses on Saint-Paul East Street, between Berri and De Vaudreuil Streets.
This opportunity to secure a location on the aforementioned sector of Saint-Paul East Street is offered to entrepreneurs who seek to establish retail businesses or professional offices catering to residents and employees in the district, as well as entrepreneurs who seek to expand or diversify their existing retail businesses or professional offices.
Over the course of the competition, PME MTL Centre-Ville will be awarding subsidies varying from $15 000 to $35 000 to entrepreneurs who show that they can boost the appeal of Saint-Paul East Street and fulfill the needs of the area’s consumers. Participants have until December 1st to apply online on PME MTL Centre-Ville’s website.
“New local businesses are invited to thrive as Old Montreal continues its swift development. The district’s many residents, employees and passersby will all benefit from this initiative,” says Mr. Mario Lafrance, CEO of the SDC Vieux-Montréal.

The PR@M Artère en chantier program
Many important infrastructure repairs were done on Saint-Paul East Street in 2015-2016. In order to reduce the impact of these repairs on local businesses and to maintain the commercial vitality of Saint-Paul Street, the SDC Vieux-Montréal was granted financial support from the PR@M Artère en chantier program, an initiative created by the Ville de Montréal. This unique program, dedicated to the enhancement of the city’s commercial arteries, was crucial towards the fulfillment of this entrepreneurial competition.
