Bob Walsh, special guest of Gospel Fever
Bob Walsh is, and always has been, an outstanding figure in the Québec blues scene. Surrounded by his old friends, harmonics Guy Bélanger; pianist Jean Fernand Girard and bassist Jean Cyr; he is guest starring the opening show of the 17th edition of this Gospel Fever edition, that is destined for greatness.
Vivienne Deanne Gospel Ensemble
Born in Central India in 1959, Vivienne Deanne immigrated to Canada in 1970. Her musical interests began at the age of 11 with piano lessons. She studied classical piano for 5 years after which her interests grew towards the guitar. She started composing folk songs on guitar, two of which won prizes at the Black Arts Awards of Quebec. Slaves of the Universe and Gifts. She continued on a musical path.In 1986 she went to Concordia University where she achieved her Bachelor’s degree in Integrative Music Studies. She studied singing with Carmen Mehta a Classical voice teacher. She also picked up on piano skills with Yan Yarczek a well known Jazz pianist/teacher. While she was at Concordia, she won a spot in the National Jazz competition associated with the Jazz festival and Alcan at that time. Vivienne continues to write, sing, direct, teach voice and piano, and work with young children in music.
Montreal Gospel Fever
Founded in 2011 by Carol Bernard, MONTREAL GOSPEL CHOIR (MGC) continues to enchant its growing audience through its musical excellence and vibrant performances. This 80-voice choir is composed of men and women from different cultures and ages, a beautiful representation of the city of Montreal. The words family, love, joy, innovation, infectious energy, and goose bumps are often associated with MGC.
