ARTIST TALK | NATALIA LASSALLE-MORILLO
Currently in residency at the Darling Foundry, Natalia Lassalle-Morillo invites you to come discover her project Retirement, a documentary and film series that show the process of aging in women ; how their bodies are transformed through time and how these changes affect their outlook on life. This project is based around interviews conducted over the past six months with women over 60 years of age in Puerto Rico, Miami and Montréal. While the first part of the project is documentary based, the second one consists of “video portraits” developed in collaboration with the participants. These portraits aim to reconstruct a memory, event, or particularity of these women’s life through film and focus on capturing the act of remembering.
