The historic district gets a complete makeover this year!
June 7, 2018
Saint-Paul Street has played host to many different events in the last 4 years, from 2014 to 2017, courtesy of the SDC Vieux-Montréal, and funded by the Ville-Marie Borough. Over those years, this district has adopted a trade-fair look, but this year the whole district is getting a Grand Prix makeover! McGill, Notre-Dame, Bonsecours, de la Commune West, St-Amable and Gosford Streets (right outside metro Champs-de-Mars) will be displaying 130 new, giant, checkered flags in celebration of Grand Prix 2018. The Place Royale, adjacent to the summer activities held at Pointe-à-Callière, will also be rocking this look, with checkered flags overlooking the people walking through the square. Grand Prix is in the air!
Party throughout the district!
In order to fulfil the requests of its increasing membership, spread out across the district’s various arteries, the SDC Vieux-Montréal shall extend the Grand Prix festivities to all of Old Montreal’s sectors. This new, commonsense approach towards one of Montréal’s most famous events will allow businesses to capitalize on the festive nature of their districts throughout the weekend, thanks to the SDC Vieux-Montréal and the Ville-Marie Borough. That means that every business will all be able to personalize its supply of events and goods (evenings, specials, themed menus, activities, and so on), and will receive support for their events by benefitting from their sectors’ new look and the promotional campaign 2.0 targeting Old Montreal’s employees and employers.
A new-and-improved digital campaign for Grand Prix weekend in Old Montreal
Once more, we will be mounting a digital campaign that will include a schedule of all the Grand-Prix inspired events throughout Old Montreal. You want to know where to find this weekend’s wildest parties and themed menus? Or, maybe its special activities and unmissable DJ performances? Follow the Vieux-Montréal on Facebook, or on Instagram @levieuxmontreal, to plan your weekend from Thursday to Sunday, June 7 to 10!
