9 New Year's Partys in the Old Montreal
December 14, 2015
I don’t know for you, but I believe that organising a New Year’s Eve party is always quite stressful. The expectations for the year’s craziest night are always high – and with reason. Worry not! This year, you won’t spend New Year’s Eve watching the ball drop in your pyjamas while slurping on some ramen, because we got you fully covered.
First off, I would advise you to plan for the famous New Year’s party, organized by Montréal en Fêtes. It will take place on the Place Jacques-Cartier and in the Old Port at 7PM, featuring: Dumas, Yan Perreau, Bernard Adamus and Coeur de Pirate. The night will end with a spectacular fireworks show, presented by Coca-Cola, at midnight!
Though you do have a lot of glamorous and bubbly options to choose from:
The Auberge Saint-Gabriel’s Velvet is one of Montreal’s most renowned places, due not only to its reputation, but also to its 300-year-old history. This year, the Auberge has planned its Paradis Perdu party: an evening of pure gastronomical bliss!
You want to celebrate in a sophisticated place with 30s-style decor while having a great view of the Fireworks? Harlow’s got the solution. This restaurant is located directly on the Place Jacques-Cartier, and will offer you a table d’hôte that is to die for; chef Nacim Louali can’t wait to show you his culinary prowess!
Jack Saloon, a well-known name in Quebec City and in the Quartier Dix30, is now open in Old Montreal! It’s got a great rustic décor and offers you a rock and roll ambiance to keep you partying all night. So come on down, and release your inner Mick Jagger!
Flyjin has got an amazing reputation for its underground/chic nights, not to mention their famous chef, Antonio Park. Want a glamourous night? Opt for the Soirée Cycle.
Santos will make you feel at home (#welcomehome). This famous tapas bar will have you celebrating the New Year’s with their fiesta grande! 5 service menu, a view on the countdown on a giant screen, DJ… All waiting for you at Santos!
To start off the year with effervescence, crack the champagne open at midnight at Champagnerie! In my opinion, champagne and spangles are like Jay Z and Beyonce: a perfect match up.
Joverse is sure to offer you a groovy ambiance with a lot of stylish people. Their advice is simple: remember to celebrate New Year’s Eve before starting your resolutions!
Scarlet Exclusive opens its doors to you on the night of the 31st and allows you to have an ultra-classy night with a decadent menu including oysters and bubbly. You can’t go wrong with this breathtaking restaurant!
Pro-tip (you bet I’m a pro): Reserve now while you still can.
So peace out 2015, and hello 2016, we’re ready for you!
